Pattern Lens performs page inspection locally in Chrome. It does not operate a server and does not collect, sell, transmit, or retain browsing data, website content, scan results, identifiers, feedback, or analytics.
Pattern Lens’s use of information received through Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide the user-requested page inspection and is not transferred to third parties.
After the user clicks the extension, Pattern Lens temporarily reads a bounded sample of the active page’s visible text, headings, controls, metadata, and computed presentation properties. This data is used in memory to produce the popup report and toolbar badge. It is not uploaded or saved by the extension.
If the user chooses Export JSON, Chrome downloads a report containing the page URL, title, hostname, scores, and matched evidence to a location controlled by the user. Export is never automatic.
activeTab grants temporary access to the page the user chose to inspect.scripting runs the bounded snapshot collector and the temporary evidence overlay on that page.Pattern Lens requests no persistent host access and no storage permission. It cannot inspect Chrome internal pages or the Chrome Web Store.
The extension sends no scan data to third parties. Because it does not retain data, there is no server-side account or record to delete. A user can remove exported JSON files through their operating system and uninstall the extension through Chrome.
Material changes to this policy will be dated and published at this URL. Support contact information is available on the Pattern Lens Chrome Web Store listing.
